A Lesson I Learned in Life
O ne of the Chinese sayings goes ” A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit.” The best education people can obtain is always through learning from their mistakes. For me, the lesson I learned in my life is never to be too complacent with myself. When I first moved to Canada, I thought I would adapt into this new environment very quickly, so I hardly studied after school and just spent all the time playing with my little sister. The first year passed and my teacher told me that I could not go to regular courses because my English was not even improving. At that moment, I started to realize that I should work harder in my spare time instead of being overconfident and wasting my time all day. From then on, I began to read one English novel after another to improve my vocabulary, while I would never read these books in the past. After a year’s effort, I was told that I was able to join regular courses because teachers saw my great progress and my good attitude at learning English. ...
